Ergonomics - Human Factors Engineering
ErgoS Engineering & Ergonomics integrates human factors expertise into design and engineering projects. Main areas of interest are process industries, power generation, manufacturing, ICT and Health Care. Many years of experience in applied ergonomics and an extensive library enable us to find prompt and fitting answers to most ergonomic questions.Major specialisms include
- integrated control room design
- emergency control centre design
- maritime design: www.maritime-ergonomics.com
- human computer interaction (HCI) and software ergonomics: www.usable-software.info
- user tests and prototyping, for example with 3D-graphics and mock-ups
- project management
- efficiënt techniques for the analyses of work situations:
- work load assessment
- hierarchical task analysis (HTA) for complex processes
- physical work load, including RSI-type problems

News
Van Oord dredging company currently builds the Athena: a very modern self-propelled cutter suction dredger.
After previous experiences with designing bridges for the HAM 318 and the Vox Maxima, ErgoS has been asked to design the new bridge, its contours and the workstations in it.
News is also that ErgoS will design the Engine Control Room (ECR). The first results are promising. By applying modern control principles, an entirely new ECR-concept arises. Which is considered a major step forward by the involved parties.
