Welcome to ErgoS Human Factors Engineering
ErgoS Human Factors Engineering integrates ergonomics in engineering projects. We focus on control centres (industrial, traffic management, off-shore), maritime sector (ships, VTS, off-shore industry), as well as on software, aviation, and logistic systems. Our thirty years of experience and up-to-date know-how enable us to find adequate and innovative answers to ergonomic questions.
Controlrooms Gasunie and ErgoS have already worked on projects at various locations in the Netherlands. In 2019, ErgoS has collaborated on renewals at three locations: in consultation with user groups, new designs for the various control rooms are emerging.
Review and redesign of a control room ErgoS was contracted by Neste to perform ergonomic study of the current control room following the idea to install large-screen displays to present processs overviews and trend informatie (= overview information). The analysis revealed three directions for improvement, namely a lack of good process overview, perceived workload at one of the two main workstation and the layout of the control room (including desk) and environmental factors.

In 2020 it is twenty years since ErgoS was invited to design the bridge of the worlds largest dredging vessel. That was the start of two decades of ship innovation by applying ergonomics principles and design tools, in which we contributed to the design of more than 25 ships: dredging vessels, crane ships, pipe layers, cable layers, cargo ships, FLNG’s, FPSO’s, tankers, patrol vessels and many others.
