The aim of Human Factors (HF) / Ergonomics (both terms are used interchangeably) is to optimize the work system. A short definition is ‘user-centred design’, expressing a focus, both on the human being and engineering.
The value of HF Engineering is beyond minimum legal requirements and regulations on occupational health and safety. It is about optimizing productivity in a safe and comfortable work environment. This often means weighing conflicting demands and reaching a consensus and calls for a systematic approach.
Considering human factors helps to harmonize the influences of the different participants: client, end users, suppliers, etc. An important part of our approach is the integration of end user participation in the project, including observations and interviews of users in their work situation.
We have the skills and knowledge to manage all phases of a design project: analysis, design, engineering, implementation. As part of a project team, we address topics such as job design, operator workload, control centre layout, workplace layout, instrumentation, information display, environment, and many more.
ErgoS Human Factors Engineering is committed to stay independent: we do not sell equipment and we are not related to any supplier.
