Areas of interest
Erik Mulder started working at ErgoS as automation specialist. He is a leading ergonomist on human-computer interaction and knows all about dialogue design and graphical interface design. He applies this knowledge on small sized touch interfaces as well as on large sized video walls. He likes to work on projects which fully integrate the design of control philosophy, control room lay-out, multi-screen settings and the related HMIs. Recently he is active in the area of cooperation of humans and intelligent automation. The task allocation, design, safety and the combination with lots of data (IoT) in such systems are typical for Erik as Human Factors Consultant.
Recent projects:
- Ergonomical issues and graphic design for integrated traffic control on Dutch Highways. This is part of the project ‘CHARM’ intiated by the cooperation of Highways England and “Rijkswaterstaat” (Dutch).
- Designing interface concepts and details for operator interfaces regarding management and control of gas distribution in the Netherlands
- Reviewing traindriver interfaces, ERTMS.
- Designing control philosophy and interfaces for monitoring and control of energy distribution and Tunnels in the Dutch railway infrastructure.
- Workshops for application development and interaction design.
