Areas of interest

Ruud Pikaar works as a senior ergonomist in large scale control centre projects. Projects include building layout, control room layout, workplace design and graphic design.
 He has specific interest in job design and (local) work organization design, which includes workload assessment.
 Often, ergonomic input is combined with general (building) project management as well as activities in the area of user participation.

Ruud has a special interest promoting HF by stimulating the HF-community to publish case studies.

• Control centres (maritime, traffic, rail).
• Control room design for process industries, oil & gas.
• Alarm management studies for process industries
• CCTV-studies for industrial applications.
